Really lovely ☺️. Thank you for sharing! It is a very timely post for me as I am reading this as we are sitting in my parents casita (we have sold all of our belongings) in Arizona waiting for our D7 visa to show up so that we too can move into our little piece of Portugal soon. I have been spending a lot of time online at Worten’s looking at appliances for our new home so the idea to have TWO european refrigerators was enlightening!
the warmth that exudes from your home is palpable. it surely reflects the love and personalities that live in it. in my 35+ years as an interior designer, now retired, this is what i tried to instill in my clients homes. so many personal beautiful details! it is the biggest fear i have about moving to portugal. that i will have to lose the connection to the 'things' that reflect my life. it will be a grand lesson in editing! in any event, we will be in setubal
7-10 november, toward the end of our 2 month look/see trip and i would love to meet for coffee or whatever might work. thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Now, I really look forward to meeting you someday…and even though we love our flat in Lisboa, I’m a tad jealous 💕 A very special space, you are fortunate!
So charming. I'm a little obsessed with your light fixtures, especially the sconces. Very magical. For your brick walls, have you tried brick clips to hang things? They can work for light things.
There is only one brick wall, with only the one painting hanging on it, so we just drilled a hole in it as we did for the rest of the cement walls. For the big wall in the living room with all the art, we did buy a picture rail to install near the ceiling, which has wires and clips for hanging art. That works really well for multiple pieces. But in places where there's just one piece, it's easier to drill a hole, use an anchor and a screw, and mount it that way. I have tried stick-on hooks for smaller, lighter pieces but the cement walls are also textured, so the stick-on method doesn't work very well.
My goodness! Sooooo beautiful! It looks super peaceful too. The whole estate looks like the kind of place your mind wanders to when meditating, but it's actually your house. It looks like soothing music.
Your home breathes....Breathes energy, breathes love, breathes light, breathes family, breathes airiness, breathes goodness. So happy to see this. xo
Wow, that's a beautiful compliment. Thank you, Gigi!
Wow, LaDonna! It’s Architectural Digest-worthy. What a gorgeous, liveable home!
I know this is a late comment, but I'm SO glad you were safe from the terrible Palmela fire!! Really gorgeous - just WOW! So happy for you!
Hi Margie! Thanks.

I'm dreaming of it. I'll make it there - just not sure when. Love you too and am glad you have such a beautiful and special place.
Spectacular-inside and out!!
What a lovely house! The bougainvillea is breathtaking...! Reminds me of South Africa where I grew up. Enjoy your beautiful house and lush gardens!
