Lots of food for thought here. Honestly introspective… only been in Portugal about three weeks and feel like all I do is shop 😊. We are both retired, so you are right, our days are different than yours. We have only four legged kids here with lots of siblings, friends, nieces, nephews and a godson back in the states that we want to keep up with. We are also anxious to make new friends here in Portugal. I have told myself to be patient…all this will work out over time…sometimes easier said than done.
Yeah, I can sure relate to this, even though I'm not even a parent. Already felt like I was juggling so much, as I was trying to prepare to get rid of most of my possessions in advance of our move overseas, and trying to learn a new language, and trying to learn how to properly use my new camera so that when I start school this fall I actually know what I'm doing and can successfully make a career change afterward. And then came the hubby's prostate cancer diagnosis last week. So now I feel like I'm really floundering in rough seas. I know that most of those changes were brought on ourselves by our decision to move--though obviously not the cancer diagnosis--but boy is it a lot all at once. Oh, and did I forget to mention that I'm turning 50 in nine days!?! LOL. All I can tell myself is one day at a time. And when that's too much, one hour at a time. Thanks for writing this; I always look forward to seeing you in my inbox. xoxo
Reminds me of the old Thomas a Kempis quote, “Wherever you go, there you are!” You will get back to a routine that fits who you are. Brilliantly written, as is everything you write.

It sounds like you are decompressing, from everything. Your beautiful new writing room will be the cure, I know it!

As your usual... great read, with lumps of recognition thrown in. Obrigado, nós!
